The fact that Panafaid is the first PanAfrican humanitarian agency with a global remit testifies to the fact that Africa has been distracted from its priorities for too long. The reasons include bad governance and corruption, and also wanton misrepresentation by others eager to make the PanAfrican community seem the paradigm of failure. In effect, Africans everywhere lost sight of their true standing in the world. What’s more they had no credible humanitarian agencies of their own to give through.

Panafaid is the paradigm shift the global African community needs, in order for the world to enjoy the true nature of Africans. This is not a political ambition, but a humanitarian one. We are simply representing the natural urge of ordinary PanAfricans to look after each other, and to share with the world, as they have done for since the dawn of time, but in a more formal way. For the first time, they have an agency to do it through.

Panafaid aims to shoulder the broadest remit, rich as it is with innovative ideas for bringing about true change rather than temporary relief to humans as well as the flora and fauna of our beautiful planet. Uniquely, Panafaid will also tackle all belief systems, dogmas and practices that cause pain and disadvantage for some, including the backward superstitions surrounding mental illness and disability, race and gender, and even old age.

Panafaid will raise funds primarily from the global African community, and will supplement this with sustainable enterprises, cultural events, and donations from the international community. Panafaid will manage every endowment judiciously and transparently on behalf of its donors, and will always aim to be an exemplar of good management, efficiency, accountability, competency, compassion, and humility. Above all, we wish to bring joy where there is anguish.
